ABOUT ABOUT

What are we doing:
Girl Develop It Boston is excited to announce a special fall fundraiser to support our local chapter. With your donation, and thanks to the generosity of Curtis Everett Townsend, you will be automatically entered to win a semester-long course of your choice at Harvard Extension School, available for use during the spring or fall 2015 semesters.

$10 donation = One (1) Entry

$25 donation = Three (3) Entries

$100 donation = Fifteen (15) Entries

How this will help:
Girl Develop It Boston has big plans to continue offering low cost classes for women in Boston.  These funds will help us continue to offer classes free of charge for students who need it and allow us to reach more women. Your $10 donation covers one teaching hour for a student. Your $100 donation sponsors one student to take an entire course.

Who we are:
“Girl, Develop It!” began as a call to action for women, by women- we’re tired of the low representation of women in tech, and we want to make a difference TODAY. Our core programs, now in over 40 cities throughout the US, are simple:  we provide low-cost, judgment-free opportunities to learn software development. Our community of over 27,000 members has led the industry-wide movement to improve diversity in tech since 2010, and today we empower over 1,000 students per month with coding skills and the community support to continue learning.

Girl Develop It is more than classes - our in-person, culture-centered approach to create learning communities means that women progress from students to teachers to leaders and technical professionals over time. Our model of curating and executing in-person, hands-on workshops targeted at women is changing the ratio and changing women’s lives.
